{"id":615,"date":"2016-10-28T09:41:33","date_gmt":"2016-10-28T15:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onesea.org\/?p=615"},"modified":"2017-05-19T09:44:28","modified_gmt":"2017-05-19T15:44:28","slug":"la-fauna-del-fondo-marino-ya-esta-ingiriendo-microplasticos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onesea.org\/en\/blog\/oceanos-saludables\/la-fauna-del-fondo-marino-ya-esta-ingiriendo-microplasticos\/","title":{"rendered":"La fauna del fondo marino ya est\u00e1 ingiriendo micropl\u00e1sticos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>En los \u00faltimos meses, las consecuencias medioambientales de las microesferas de pl\u00e1stico han adquirido una condici\u00f3n cr\u00edtica y las investigaciones recientes lo respaldan.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed quedo demostrado con los resultados del proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n CACH, producto de una colaboraci\u00f3n financiada por el Consejo Europeo de Investigaci\u00f3n (CEI), el cual ha informado con las primeras pruebas fidedignas que los animales del fondo marino est\u00e1n ingiriendo los micropl\u00e1sticos que van a parar a los oc\u00e9anos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-time\">\n<div class=\"article-multimedia-content\">\n<div id=\"m95-94-96\" class=\"captioned-image image-article article-multimedia-info\">\n<div class=\"image\">\n<div id=\"m99-98-100\" class=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"kalooga_15255 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.publico.es\/files\/article_main\/uploads\/2016\/10\/09\/57fa60ae3832b.png?w=1080\" alt=\"Cangrejo ermita\u00f1o en el que se encontraron microfibras de pl\u00e1stico.-MICHELLE TAYLOR\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Cangrejo ermita\u00f1o en el que se encontraron microfibras de pl\u00e1stico.-MICHELLE TAYLOR<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"image\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"description-overlay-image\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tras realizar una expedici\u00f3n al Atl\u00e1ntico central y el suroeste del \u00cdndico en el buque de investigaci\u00f3n James Cook y Michelle Taylor como directora del estudio, los investigadores de las universidades de Bristol y Oxford encontraron microesferas de pl\u00e1stico en el interior de cangrejos ermita\u00f1os, langostinos y pepinos de mar capturados a profundidades de entre trescientos y mil ochocientos metros. En total, se estudiaron nueve organismos y se encontraron micropl\u00e1sticos en seis de ellos.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9sta la primera vez que se demuestra la ingesti\u00f3n de micropl\u00e1sticos por parte de animales hallados a tanta profundidad.<\/p>\n<p>Los micropl\u00e1sticos se definen generalmente como part\u00edculas de menos de cinco mil\u00edmetros de longitud, como las microfibras analizadas en este estudio o las microperlas utilizadas en productos de higiene como los dent\u00edfricos y geles de ba\u00f1o. \u00a0Adem\u00e1s entre los pl\u00e1sticos encontrados dentro de dichos animales de aguas profundas en esta investigaci\u00f3n hab\u00eda restos de poli\u00e9ster, polipropileno, viscosa, nailon y productos acr\u00edlicos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cLo que resulta especialmente alarmante es que estos micropl\u00e1sticos no fueron encontrados en la zonas costeras sino en el oc\u00e9ano profundo, a miles de kil\u00f3metros de las fuentes de contaminaci\u00f3n terrestres\u201d.<\/em> <em>Michelle Taylor<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tomando en cuenta que esta es la contaminaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s grave y extendida que hay actualmente en el planeta, los estudios de impacto ecol\u00f3gico de los pl\u00e1sticos en la naturaleza son limitados, y por tanto los esfuerzos para mitigar los vertidos son insuficientes.<\/p>\n<p>Es notorio que recoger basura a gran escala de los mares es una buena idea, pero para llegar a abarcar y solucionar esta situaci\u00f3n se debe reducir el uso de pl\u00e1sticos, recuperarlos y reciclarlos en tierra, lo que solo se lograr\u00e1 con pol\u00edticas efectivas anticontaminaci\u00f3n, educaci\u00f3n integral y en el uso de tecnolog\u00edas para la recuperaci\u00f3n de pl\u00e1sticos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-body\">\n<div class=\"article-text\">\n<div id=\"m63-3-64\" class=\"captioned-image image-article article-multimedia-info\">\n<div class=\"image\">\n<div id=\"m67-66-68\" class=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"kalooga_15255 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.publico.es\/files\/article_main\/\/files\/crop\/uploads\/2016\/10\/09\/57fa60f26b27a.r_1476126955606.0-376-1634-1218.jpg?w=1080\" alt=\"Microfibra de pl\u00e1stico en un p\u00f3lipo de coral en el fondo del mar.
