Muchos han respondido a la crisis de los oc\u00e9anos comprometi\u00e9ndose a proteger franjas de oc\u00e9ano dentro de sus territorios, pero desgraciadamente, aunque todos estos compromisos se apliquen plenamente, s\u00f3lo el 4% de los oc\u00e9anos del mundo tendr\u00e1n la declaratoria de \u00c1reas Marinas Protegidas.<\/span><\/p>\n Los beneficios del establecimiento de AMPs est\u00e1n bien documentados. Seg\u00fan un estudio de la revista <\/span>Marine Ecology Progress<\/span><\/a>, las zonas totalmente protegidas pueden aumentar la biomasa total de la vida marina en m\u00e1s de un 400%, adem\u00e1s de incrementar su capacidad de resistencia y resiliencia a los cambios ambientales.<\/span><\/p>\n As\u00ed la conservaci\u00f3n de la ecolog\u00eda y los aumentos en el n\u00famero y el tama\u00f1o de especies y cr\u00edas dentro de las zonas totalmente protegidas, son necesarios tanto para la econom\u00eda, la seguridad alimentaria global y la adaptaci\u00f3n al cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/span><\/p>\n Un <\/span>ejemplo<\/span><\/a> del trabajo participativo en AMPs, han sido los esfuerzos en \u00e1reas totalmente protegidas en Filipinas. Con un enfoque de gesti\u00f3n pesquera, se da a los pescadores y comunidades acceso seguro a puntos de pesca regulados.
