El pasado 27 de junio al 1 de julio, m\u00e1s de 6.000 participantes, entre ellos 24 Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno y m\u00e1s de 2.000 representantes de la sociedad civil, se reunieron en Lisboa para llevar a cabo la Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre los Oc\u00e9anos, coorganizada por los Gobiernos de Portugal y Kenia y en la cual OneSea estuvo presente, reconocida como<\/span>\u00a0organizaci\u00f3n Innovadora Oce\u00e1nica<\/span>, acompa\u00f1ando a la delegaci\u00f3n del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Esta es la segunda conferencia desarrollada y sus objetivos se concentran en la facilitaci\u00f3n y ejecuci\u00f3n de iniciativas para el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) n\u00famero 14 \u201cConservar y utilizar sosteniblemente los oc\u00e9anos, los mares y los recursos marinos para el desarrollo sostenible\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

Acciones para un cambio global en los mares<\/strong><\/h2>\n

El ODS 14<\/a> es conocido como uno de los menos financiados hist\u00f3ricamente, por lo que se plantearon 10 metas para discutir, como reducir la contaminaci\u00f3n marina; proteger y restaurar los ecosistemas; reducir la acidificaci\u00f3n de los oc\u00e9anos; garantizar que la pesca se realice de forma sostenible; conservar las zonas costeras y marinas, entre otros. Algunos de estos objetivos deb\u00edan alcanzarse en 2020, mientras que otros deben abordarse antes de 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entre las acciones que resaltan del evento, varios pa\u00edses anunciaron nuevas \u00e1reas marinas protegidas<\/a>. Un ejemplo es Colombia, que ampli\u00f3 la zona de exclusi\u00f3n de capturas en el Santuario de Malpelo, un h\u00e1bitat cr\u00edtico para muchas especies marinas, incluidos el tibur\u00f3n ballena y el at\u00fan y cre\u00f3 tres nuevas \u00e1reas protegidas y de gesti\u00f3n marina. Estas nuevas ampliaciones, si se aplican en su totalidad, permitir\u00e1n a Colombia alcanzar el objetivo de proteger el 30% de sus aguas ocho a\u00f1os antes de la fecha l\u00edmite de 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

Para concluir la conferencia, los 198 miembros de las Naciones Unidas adoptaron por unanimidad el 1 de julio de 2022, la Declaraci\u00f3n de Lisboa sobre la conservaci\u00f3n de los oc\u00e9anos. Los estados parte se comprometieron a seguir acciones innovadoras y basadas en la ciencia de forma urgente. <\/span><\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n se acord\u00f3 trabajar en la prevenci\u00f3n, reducci\u00f3n y control de la contaminaci\u00f3n marina, el desarrollo y la promoci\u00f3n de soluciones financieras innovadoras para ayudar a crear econom\u00edas sostenibles basadas en los oc\u00e9anos y la ampliaci\u00f3n de las soluciones basadas en la naturaleza para ayudar a conservar y preservar las comunidades costeras.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 OneSea aporta su metodologia en la construcci\u00f3n de pol\u00edticas y leyes ambientales<\/b><\/h3>\n

Aprovechando la experiencia acumulada a lo largo de estos a\u00f1os, desarrollando y promoviendo pol\u00edticas ambientales <\/a>como lo fueron la prohibici\u00f3n de venta de contenedores de estereof\u00f3n, la prohibici\u00f3n de pajillas pl\u00e1sticas, promover las playas como zonas recreativas libres de humo de tabaco y desarrollar proyectos como Paisajes Sin Pl\u00e1stico y promover la Paz a los Oc\u00e9anos, la delegaci\u00f3n de OneSea comparti\u00f3 con representantes de otros pa\u00edses, su modelo participativo de desarrollo y promoci\u00f3n de pol\u00edticas ambientales que nacen desde las comunidades, hacia los gobiernos.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Durante diversas presentaciones de Fundaci\u00f3n OneSea hizo \u00e9nfasis en la necesidad de promover una responsabilidad extendida del productor a nivel mundial, as\u00ed como la promoci\u00f3n de este tipo de regulaciones ambientales de forma efectiva a nivel local desde cada pa\u00eds del mundo mediante la metodolog\u00eda participativa que Fundaci\u00f3n OneSea utiliza, despertando el inter\u00e9s de pa\u00edses como Uruguay, Panam\u00e1, Sao Tome y de diversos fondos de cooperaci\u00f3n internacional.<\/p>\n
