Sin embargo, parece que sus gritos de auxilio son en vano ya que no detenemos la incesante <strong>contaminaci\u00f3n del medio ambiente<\/strong>. Para nadie es secreto los severos da\u00f1os que est\u00e1n generando las millones de toneladas de pl\u00e1stico que flotan en nuestros oc\u00e9anos. A\u00fan as\u00ed, se estima que desde 1950 cuando inici\u00f3 la producci\u00f3n masiva de materiales sint\u00e9ticos, la humanidad ha producido unos 8 mil trecientos millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas de pl\u00e1stico y la mayor\u00eda de estos terminar\u00e1 eventualmente en el mar.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan el centro de investigaci\u00f3n alemana, <strong>Helmholtz-Center for Environmental Research<\/strong>, ubicado en Leipzig, tan s\u00f3lo el 9 por ciento de ese material producido fue reciclado, el 12 por ciento fue incinerado y el 79 por ciento se acumula en vertederos o en el medio ambiente, generando una severa <strong>huella ambiental<\/strong> que se est\u00e1 volviendo <a href=\"https:\/\/onesea.org\/en\/blog\/oceanos-saludables\/oceanos-mueren-asfixia\/\">casi imposible de borrar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Christian Schmidt, un hidroge\u00f3logo de dicho centro, explic\u00f3 que seg\u00fan un estudio que realizaron en al menos 79 lugares distintos del mundo, tomando muestras a lo largo de 57 r\u00edos, pudieron determinar de d\u00f3nde proviene la mayor cantidad de <strong>contaminantes pl\u00e1sticos<\/strong> que llegan a los oc\u00e9anos, obteniendo datos muy reveladores.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio se bas\u00f3 en el an\u00e1lisis tanto de part\u00edculas micropl\u00e1sticas de menos de 5 mm, as\u00ed como macropl\u00e1stico por encima de este tama\u00f1o y pudieron determinar que la mayor\u00eda de las principales fuentes de contaminaci\u00f3n se encuentran en Asia y tan solo <strong>10 r\u00edos en el mundo aportan el 95% de los desechos pl\u00e1sticos<\/strong> que llegan al mar. Seg\u00fan el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufz.de\/index.php?en=33573\">Helmholtz-Center for Environmental Research<\/a>, los 10 r\u00edos qu\u00e9 m\u00e1s pl\u00e1stico transportan a los oc\u00e9anos son:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1452\" style=\"width: 380px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/onesea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/bottles-87342_1920-e1501890762981.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1452\" class=\"wp-image-1452\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/onesea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/bottles-87342_1920.jpg?resize=370%2C247&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Manejo de desechos\" width=\"370\" height=\"247\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1452\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">10 r\u00edos aportan el 95% de los pl\u00e1sticos que llegan al mar.<\/p><\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>El Yangtze<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo Indo<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo Amarillo<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo Hai<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo Nilo<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo Ganges<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo de las Perlas<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo Amur<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo N\u00edger<\/li>\n<li>R\u00edo Mekong<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>La mayor\u00eda de estos se caracteriza por una alta poblaci\u00f3n y un muy mal <a href=\"https:\/\/onesea.org\/en\/blog\/oceanos-saludables\/que-hacer-computadora-vieja\/\">manejo de sus residuos s\u00f3lidos<\/a>. Por ejemplo el R\u00edo Yangtze. Este es el tercer r\u00edo m\u00e1s largo del mundo, atravesando China por casi 4 mil kil\u00f3metros y tiene una poblaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 500 millones de personas. Solo este r\u00edo aporta unos 329 millones de kilogramos de <a href=\"https:\/\/onesea.org\/en\/blog\/oceanos-saludables\/reduce-uso-plastico-diario-tarde-todos\/\">pl\u00e1stico al mar cada a\u00f1o<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan manifiestan los expertos, si se intervinieran estos 10 r\u00edos de forma integral y contundente podr\u00eda reducir hasta en m\u00e1s de la mitad esta contaminaci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, ya el mundo ha evidenciado como ni tan siquiera los esfuerzos globales de diferentes pa\u00edses unidos, han servido para <a href=\"https:\/\/onesea.org\/en\/blog\/noticias-ambientales\/oceanos-planeta-record-calor-2017\/\">detener el calentamiento global<\/a>. Es por esto que todos tenemos que ser parte del cambio.
